Basic Mat:

Row 1: With 2 strands held together, ch 4, join to form ring, ch 2,
       9 dc in ring, join (10 sts)

Row 2: ch 2, 1 dc in same st, 2 dc in each st around, join (20 sts)

Row 3: ch 2, *2 dc in next st, 1 dc in nest st *Repeat around (30 sts)

Row 4: ch 2, 1 dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, *1 dc in each of next
       2 sts, 2 dc in next st, *Repeat around, join

Row 5: ch 2, 1 dc in each of next 2 st, 2 dc in next st, *1 dc in
       each of next 3 sts, 2 dc in next st, *Repeat around, join

Row 6: ch 2, 1 dc in each of next 3 st, 2 dc in next st, *1 dc in
       each of next 4 sts, 2 dc in next st, *Repeat around, join

Cat Ears: Make 2
Row 1: 1 dc in each of next 9 sts, turn
Row 2: ch 2, 1 dc dec over 1st 2 sts, 1 dc in each st across, 1 dc
       over last 2 sts, turn
Row 3: ch 2, 1 dc dec over 1st 2 sts, 1 dc in nest st, 1 dc dec over
       next 2 sts, 1 dc in next st, 1 dc dec over last 2 sts, turn
Row 4: ch 2, 1 dc dec over 1st 2 sts, 1 dc dec over next 2 sts,
       1 dc dec over last 2 sts (3sts) Finish off

***SKIP 14 STS, and make 2nd ear


TRIM:
In 1st st on top of right ear, join yarn, ch 1, 3 sc in right corner
of ear, 3 hdc in center st, 3 sc in left corner of ear, evenly sc down
left side of ear.

**[1 dc in each st around, INCREASE on increase st, 1 dc in each st to
  2nd ear],

evenly sc up right side of ear, 3 sc in right corner, 3 hdc in center
st, 3 sc in left corner, evenly sc down left side of ear.

**[ *1 dc in each st around INCREASE in every increase st] *Repeat to
right ear, evenly sc up right side of ear, join & fasten off

Fish Pet Mat

                    This is "my" (JMSQ) version of the Pet/Fish Mat...

Lillibet Lugo has made fish mats for cats & paw mats for dogs... They
are so cute so after seeing a photo, I thought I'd whip up my version
of this awesome pattern design and give Lillibet Lugo all the credit
due for inspiring me.. enjoy

WW Yarn - These Pet Mats are made up from left over yarn rolled into balls,
If your going to buy yarn to make a Pet Mat, buy 1 in varagated & 1 in plain

FISH FAN:
Row 1: CH 2, 1 dc in each of next 16 sts, ch 2 turn

Row 2: 1 dc in same st as ch 2, 1 dc in each st across ending with 2 dc in
       last st, ch 2 turn (19 sts)

Row's 3-5: Repeat row 2 (Sts- row 3:21 sts, row 4:23 sts, row 5:25 sts,

Row 6: 1 dc in same st as ch 2, 1 dc in each st across ending with 2 dc in
       last st, ch 1 turn  (27 sts)

Row 7: 3 sc in right corner, 1 sc in each st across top of fan, 3 sc in left
           corner, 1 sc in each st evenly down left side of fan, 1 dc in each
           of next 5 sts, 2 dc in nest st, *1 dc in each of next 11, 2 dc in next
          st. *Repeat around, to right side of fish fan, 1 sc in each st up right
          side of fan,  join & fasten off...
