Row 1 (RS): Ch 12, dc in 4th ch from hk, dc in ea ch across, turn (10 dc)
Row 2 (WS): Ch 2, dc in ea dc across, turn (10 dc)
Rows 3-7: Rep Row 2.

(Increase Row's)
Row 8 (inc row): Ch 2, dc in same dc at base of beg ch, dc in ea dc across to
last st, 2 dc in last st, turn (12 dc)
Row 9 (inc row): Rep Row 8 (14 dc)
Row 10 (inc row): Rep Row 8 (16 dc)
Row 11 (inc row): Rep Row 8 (18 dc)

Begin X stitch:
Row 12: Ch 2, sk next dc, dc in next dc, dc in skipped st (X-st completed), Xst
across to last st, dc in last st, turn (8 X-sts, plus 1 dc at ea end of row)
Row 13 - 15: Repeat row 12
Row 16: 1 dc in each st across (18 sts)

Rows 37-42: Rep Row 36. At end of Row 42, do not cut yarn.

Finishing: Fold piece in half with right sides together, holding foundation
chain together with last row worked. Ch 1, sl st in ea st across through both
thicknesses. Fasten off and weave in tails.
