Childrens Hospital In Little Rock today.. There are over 400 Baby hats...

Walker & Wheelchair Caddy

H hook
2 - 1" buttond

NOTE:
you don't have to use 2 colored yarns, I just did to help you see the changes & sts.

NOTE: SPECIAL STS:
(skip 1 st, 1 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in st just skipped "X stitch just  made")

Note: ch 2 does count as hdc

MAKE 2
Row 1: ch 30, 1 hdc in 2 ch from hook, 1 hdc in each st across, ch 2 turn
Row 2-10: 1 hdc in each st across, ch 2 turn change colors at end of row 10 (30 sts)
Row 11: 1 hdc in each st across, ch 2 turn (30 sts)
Row 12: 1 hdc in next 2 sts, [skip 1 st, 1 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in st just skipped ](X stitch just  made),repeat *X st 11 more times, 1 hdc in last 3 sts (12 X sts, & 6 sts)
ROW 13: REPEAT ROW 11 .. cHANGE COLORS
ROW 14-16 rEPEAT ROW 11 (30 STS)

With constracting color, hold both piece's (together wrong side inside), sc in each st around side, bottom and up other side, 1 sc in each st along front to end, then 1 sc in each st along top of back, finish off and tuck in tails

Straps:
Right Side:
Row 1: With back facing you, skip 3 sts on right side and attach constracting color, ch 2, 1 hdc in next 4 sts, ch 2 turn (5 sts)
Row 2-12: Repeat row 1 (5 sts)
Row 13, 1 hdc in next st, ch 1, skip next st, 1 hdc in last 2 sts, ch 2 turn
Row 14: 1 hdc in each st across, finish off (5 sts

Left Strap:
Row 1: skip 8 sts, join yarn with ch 2, 1 hdc in next 4 tst, ch 2 turn (5 sts)
Row 2-12: 1 hdc in each st across, ch 2 turn
Row 13: 1 hdc in next st, ch 1, skip next st, 1 hdc in last 2 sts, ch 2 turn
Row 14: 1 hdc in each st across, finish off (5 sts)

  1. I can't tell from the pic - where do the buttons go? Is this a pocket-type contraption with the buttons on the back side? ...and it looks like one side is longer than the other - just to show back and front?

  2. the buttons go on front of wheelchair caddy, lined up to button holes so the straps when in place go over walker top bar and down to buttons to secure.

    My Aunt used her's (this one in photo actually) all the time, she kept family photo's in it, her glasses, and sometimes she put her favorite book in it as well...
