Period Of "PURPLE CRYING"

                     HELP US PREVENT CHILD ABUSE

Arkansas Children's Hospital is working hard to spread the word about the "Period of PURPLE CRYING". This is the phase when an infant cries incessantly and inconsolabley. We know from research and experience that many shaken baby and infant head trauma cases are rooted in this extremely frustrating experience. To help raise awareness about the Period of PURPLE CRYING and to let parents know how they can help. We are looking for purple hats to distribute to our newborn patients' families. Your careful creations can help us drive home the message that incessant newborn crying is normal and that there are healthy ways to address it...

DONATE PURPLE KNITTED OR CROCHETED HATS:
*Needed most are 12-to-14 inch diameter to fit majority of our patients that are full term infants
*A few smaller caps in the 9-inch, 10-inch and 11-inch are needed
