Dish-Cloths

DishCloth is something everyone can use. I make mine both in Crochet & Knitting. I make 2 out of a skein of Sugar & Cream Cotton. One for a gift and one for family.

When knitting I always use LARGE NEEDLES so they will dry quickly, other wise they will smell like meldew or mold and then they are good for nothing but the trash. I also have a curtain rod hanging right above my kitchen sink to hang my rinsed out dish-cloths over to air dry after each use..

NEVER leave your dish or wash cloths balled up in the tub or sink, they will mold and reak. They MUST be dried right away so they can be used over and over again.
ALSO, Please Note, ALL knitted dishcloths stretch when wet, so don't make them to big or they will be hard to handle...

Cherokee

(In Memory of Grandma Grace / Cocky)
                                  Cherokee Dishcloth  Measures 8 1/2" X 9"

I came up with this dishcloth while knitting on the couch in the Cherokee Casino in Silom Springs OK. So I jotted down the numbers came home and whipped it up

YO = Yarn Over
K2 together = Knit 2 together

10 Needles
CO 36

Rows 1-3: Knit across

Row 4: Knit 2, YO, Knit 2 together, Knit 9 sts, YO, Knit 2 Together, Knit to end

Row 5: Repeat row 4 until cloth measures 8 1/2 " from beginning to needle

Rows 6-9: Knit across, cast off

NOTE: Yo can make this cloth 7" or 8" high, I like to make mine a little bigger because I give them away as gifts and never know for sure who's going to recieve this

Simply Dish-Cloth               Measures 9 1/2" X 7"

Row 4: Knit 2, YO, Knit 2 Together, knit across
Repeat Row 4 until cloth measures from beggining to needles 6 3/4
Row 5-7: Knit Across Cast Off

NOTE:
This dishcloth can be made bigger, but I thought it looked pretty big as is, KNOWING that all knitted dishcloths stretch when wet.

ALSO, I use larger needles because the bigger the holes the quicker they dry so you won't have a moldy or meldew smell

Wheel Chair Wrap

This little wrap was designed specifically for the elderly - particularly those confined to wheelchairs or to bed. The short length prevents it from getting caught in wheels. Prayer Cloths

"Praying Hearts, Comforting Others, One Stitch At A Time"

"Some people took handkerchiefs and clothes that Paul had used and put them on the sick. When they did this, the sick were healed and evil spirits left them. Acts 19:12 (NCV)

This is our opportunity to Bless another who may be Ill, Hurt, Depressed, Lonely or in need of Spiritual Comfort with our Prayer & Blessing Cloths.

Simple crochet or knit a cloth between 6" or 7" (above photo are Pocket Prayer Cloths) and enclose the following note for someone who is Ill or in need of Spiritual Comfort, or; Comfort in general or use your own comforting words...{FREE Pattern's Below}

[Just a note of cheer, to let you know that I've been Praying for you. This Prayer cloth was made with many stitches of Love, and Prayer especially for "You". Prayers of Love, Healing, Comfort & Protection, have Annointed this cloth.

Please know that I am thinking of "You", and Praying for "You". You are a Special part of my life, and of the world.]

KEY:
It's Faith in Christ, Believing, & Prayer that does the Healing in our lives.
Your job is to Pray for the person "recieving" this cloth while your making this cloth, then when they recieve the cloth, it's their Faith in Christ & Believing His WORD that does the Healing.

This Project of LOVE was started Oct.1st,2001.
The Lord is the one who should and does receive the honor. The Lord is the hand that makes the glove move.
After much Prayer, God lead me to get involved and share this Ministery with those needing to be touched by HIS LOVE.

All gifts of Prayer & Blessing Cloths are made from love and donated to touch the life of one of God's Children from 0-to-99yrs.
Please give God all the Honor & Glory as He does (all) the work through me, I'm but His servant.

If you know of someone who is in need of one of our Prayer & Blessing
Cloths,  Please e-mail  me (  OzarkPs_91@yahoo.com  & put Prayer
Cloth in Subject line) with their Name, Address:
ALL Prayer Cloths are FREE, [no charge, no questions,Period].
Limit 1 per address.. USA only, postage outside the USA is just to high

NOTE: I have had people request several Prayer Cloths at one time. I have had to refuse because it is my feeling that when requesting more then 1 Prayer Cloth they are being sold for a profit and this goes against what this Ministry is all about. So PLEASE save us both the embarasment by requesting only 1 Prayer Cloth.

Coral Swofford Shared this verse for her cloths...

Lay this softly upon your palm,
Feel God's Grace, His Love, His Calm,
Lift Your cares and joys in Prayer,
Drawing Peace from this little square.

1,2,3 Poncho / Shawl

                              (In Memory of JoAnn Sampson © 2006 - 2010)

My daughter is 34 yrs old now, as has grown up wearing these poncho's as have all my Granddaughters.

These can be made for newborns up to XXXL if wanted, it depends on you and how big you want them (different size yarn & Hooks makes all the difference). They are great with matching hats as well.

By not sewing (whip-stitch) up the front you can have a wonderful shawl, whip st up the front creates a poncho with a nice collar. Add fringe to set the accent on the bottom of this shawl/Poncho or scallops. You decide.

I pray you enjoy this wonderful Classic as we have over the years.(As I told you, Mom started making these back in the early 1970's, and here it is the end of 2006 - 2010 and I'm pleased to share this with you)

PATTERN:
1, 2, 3 Shawl/Poncho

(1 sc, 2 ch's, & 3 Dc's - all worked in ch 2 space from previous row)

Skip first 2 ch's, 1 dc in next dc, 1 dc in each of next 2 dc's, (total of 3 dc) (sc in ch 2 sp [green yarn shows where this is] of previous row, ch 2, 3 dc all in same space), as shown above in photo

**ch 5 TURN, skip first 2 ch's, work 1 dc in each of next 3 ch's, sc in ch 2 space from previous row, ch 2, 3 dc (ALL in the same space), sc in next ch 2 space, ch 2, 3 dc in same space ** Repeat to end of row as shown BELOW in photo

TURN OVER AND BEGIN PATTERN by 1 dc in 3rd ch from hook, 1 dc in each of next 2 ch's,  *skip next 3 dc, {1sc, ch 2, 3 dc in ch 2 space}*Repeat to end, ch 5 TURN

TURN OVER AND BEGIN PATTERN by 1 dc in 3rd ch from hook, 1 dc in each of next 2 ch's,  *skip next 3 dc, {1sc, ch 2, 3 dc in ch 2 space}*Repeat to end, ch 5 TURN

Row 4 completed. See the 4 shells at the top, each shell represents a row.

[NOTE: each time you ch 5 at the end of a row you are actually beginning a new row, also, when you want to change colors, this is where you would do so]

TURN OVER AND BEGIN PATTERN by 1 dc in 3rd ch from hook, 1 dc in each of next 2 ch's,  *skip next 3 dc, {1sc, ch 2, 3 dc in ch 2 space}*Repeat to end, ch 5 TURN

CONTINUE working this pattern until desired length, then you can finish off leaving enough yarn to whip stitch up the front or just finish off.

Great with fringe or scallops

Deep Orchard Shawl started with 22 rows

Deep Orchard folded down to show you how to whip st up front to make a poncho, don't forget to leave enough space to slip over head

This makes a Beautiful gift for newborns with matching hats & booties
Just use baby yarn or sports yarn with a size F or G hook (I like a G & H Hook) I don't add fringe for these, I use dainty scallops
