Childrens Hospital In Little Rock today.. There are over 400 Baby hats...

Boo Boo Babies

{ALL boo boo babies can be made with arms & legs, or not.  These babies are for the Boone County Health Dept. They give them to babies - 5 yrs of age when they get shot's, Thus the name Boo Boo Babies came to be... Most people sew babies, I enjoy crocheting, so I had to come up with a same size pattern for babies as the cloth ones. All patterns can be found below}

Main color, white or flesh for face

{F, G, H Hooks}

H hook was used for the large baby, (pattern below)
G Hook for all the rest
F HooK If you want to add arms (pattern below)
Legs are made with G hook (pattern below)

                               BASIC - BOO BOO BABY   Measures 5"

G Hook

Hat:
Row 1: ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd st from hook, join (6 sts)

Row 2: ch 2, 1 sc in same st, 2 sc in each st around, join (12 sts)

Row 3: ch 2, 1 sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st, *repeat, 1 sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next,
*Repeat, join (16 sts)

Row 4 - 5: ch 2, 1 sc in each st around, join (16 sts)

Row 6: 1 sc in front loop of each st around. Join (16 sts)

FOR BOY BABY:
Row 7: ch 2, 1 sc in each st around, join, Fasten off

FOR GIRL BABY:
Row 7: ch 4, 1 sc in next st, ch 2, *REPEAT 1 sc, ch 2 in each st around, fasten off

Face:
Row 8-11: Attach white to backloops from round 6 , 1 sc in each st around, join. ch.1 (16 sts) Fasten off at end of row 11

NOW is the easiest time to add face (using main body colored yarn, Embroider on features, when finished continue with baby pattern

Body:
Row 12-21: join bady colored yard, *1 sc in each st across, join ch 1 *Repeat around At the end of row 21 follow directions below;

Stuff doll from the bottom. Thread tail on a yarn needle. Weave through last round, pull tight, tie off. Weave in ends.

GREEN Boo Boo w/ Arms & Legs  -  Measures 5" sitting - 6" Legs stretched out

F & G Hooks - - USE G HOOK FOR ALL EXCUPT ARMS,

G Hook
Row 1: ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd st from hook, join (6 sts)
Row 2: ch 2, 1 sc in same st, 2 sc in each st around, join (12 sts)
Row 3: ch 2, 1 sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st, *repeat, 1 sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next, *Repeat, join (16 sts)
Row 4 - 5: ch 2, 1 sc in each st around, join (16 sts)
Row 6: 1 sc in front loop of each st around. Join (16 sts)

FOR BOY BABY:
Row 7: ch 2, 1 sc in each st around, join, Fasten off
FOR GIRL BABY:
Row 7: ch 4, 1 sc in next st, ch 2, *REPEAT 1 sc, ch 2 in each st around, fasten off

Row 8-11: Attach white to backloops from round 6 , 1 sc in each st around, join. ch.1 (16 sts)
Fasten off at end of row 11
Row 12 - 17: 1 sc in each st around, join, ch 1 , after row 17 continue with pattern for both arms & legs, sl st 5 sts, ch 1, STUFF DOLL, squeeze bottom together and matching both sides, sc in both sides together across (8 sts)

Leg's:
Rnd 1: Ch 1, turn, sc in front loops of first 4 sts. Turn, sc in back loops of same sts. Do not join. ( 8 sts)
Rnd 2-4: Sc in each st around. Stuff leg.
Rnd 5: * Sc first st, sl st in next st* repeat from * to * around. Finish off and pull end into leg
 
Next leg
Join and repeat as for first leg on remaining 4 sts of joining rnd on body

Arm's: (make 2) F Hook
Rnd 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second ch form hook.
Rnd 2: Sc in back loops of each st around
Rnd 3-5: Sc in each st around. Stuff
Rnd 6: Ch 1, fold rnd 5 in half with wrong sides together and working through both thickness, sc in each st across ( 3 sts) Finish off leaving a long tail for sewing.

Row 1; Main coloe yarn, chain 2. sc 6 in second chain from hook. join. ch.1
Row 2: 2 sc in each sc around. join. ch.1 (12)
Row 3: 2 sc in each sc around. join. ch.1 (24)
Row 4 -8: sc in each sc around. join. ch.1 (24)
Row 9: sc in front loops only - sc in each sc around. join. ch.1 (24)


FOR BOY BABY:
Row 10: ch 2, 1 sc in each st around, join, Fasten off

FOR GIRL BABY:
Row 10: ch 4, 1 sc in next st, ch 2, *REPEAT 1 sc, ch 2 in each st around, fasten off


Row 11-14: Attach white to backloops from round 9 , 1 sc in each st around, join. ch.1 (24 sts) Fasten off at end of row 14

Row 15-25: join bady colored yard, *1 sc in each st across, join ch 1 *Repeat around At the end of row 25 follow directions below;

Stuff doll from the bottom. Thread tail on a yarn needle. Weave through last round, pull tight, tie off. Weave in ends.

These babies are for the Boone County Health Dept. [NO arms & legs] These babies do NOT have hats

NOW choose if for boy or girl and use colors as such

Row 6-15: join bady colored yard, *1 sc in each st across, join ch 1 *Repeat around At the end of row 21 follow directions below;
