Rhonda's Turtle
In Honor of our Turtle Girl "RHONDA"
This turtle (Orange Turtle) will stand on all it's legs, (just bend them down
into place) or simple fit into your egg. If you want a smaller (Brown Turtles)
egg & turtle, just use a G or F hook and follow directions
H Hook
WW yarn
Turtle Shell: Make 2, 1 for TOP shell & 1 for Bottom Shell
With Orange,
Row 1: ch 4, 1 dc in 2nd ch from hook, 2 dc in next st, 3 dc in next st,
[working on opposite side of beginning ch] 2 dc in next st, 1 dc
in base of ch 2 space, join (9 sts)
Row 2: ch 2, 1 dc in same st, *1 dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st,
*Repeat around to last st, 1 dc in base of ch2 , join (15 sts) FASTEN OFF
BOTTOM SHELL: With green, ch 1, 2 hdc in same st, *1 hdc in next 3 sts,
2 hdc in next st, *Repeat 2 more time, 1 hdc in last 2 sts,
Join & Fasten off (20 sts) leave long tail to sew together
TOP SHELL: With green, ch 1, 2 dc in same st, *1 dc in next 3 sts,
2 dc in next st, *Repeat 2 more time, 1 dc in last 2 sts,
Join & Fasten off (20 sts) leave long tail to sew together
HEAD: Make 1
Orange yarn, ch 3, join to form ring, ch 1, 6 sc in ring, join, ch 1
Row's 2-4: Green Yarn, 1 sc in each st around, join
Row 5: Fold flat, sl st both side together closed together across (3 sts)
LEGS: Make 4
Row 1: Orange yarn ch 3, join to form ring , 5 sc in in ring, join,
fasten off orange yarn
Row's 2-3: green yarn, 1 sc in each st join,
Ron 4: flod flat, sl st through both sides closed, LONG TAIL
JOINING TURTLE:
1.) I lay bottom of shell face down, now I lay the head in place & all the legs,
I sew them into place,
2.) with both top & bottom held wrong sides together, I whip st around, and also
through legs and head just to sturdy turtle, BEFORE closing, stuff, then close
EGG's: - Make 2 pieces, 1 for Top & 1 for Bottom
Top of Egg:
Row 1: ch 2, make 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join, ch 1 (6 sc)
Row 2: 2 sc in each st around, join, ch 1 (12 sc)
Row 3: 2 sc in next st, *1 sc in next st, 2 sc in next st, *Repeat around,
join, ch 1, (16 sc)
Row 4: 1 sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st, *1 sc in each of next 3 sts,
2 sc in next st, *Repeat around, join, ch 1 (20 sts)
