photo of this gnome I've come up with this version
of her pattern... I hope it does her justice... JMSQ

NOTE: Ch at beginning of each row counts as a st worked
Row 1: ch 10, join to form a ring, ch 1, 3 sc in ring, turn
and make 3 sc in back of sc's just made, join (6 sc)
Row 2: ch 2, 2 dc in each st around, join (12 dc)
Row 3: ch 2, 2 dc in next st, *1 dc in next st, 2 dc
in next st, *Repeat around, join (18 sts)
Row 4: ch 2, 2 dc in ch 2 space, *1 dc in each of next
2 sts, 2 dc in next st, *Repeat around, join
Row 5: ch 2, 1 dc in each of next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st,
*1 dc in each of next 3 sts, 2 dc in next st, join
Row 6: ch 2, 2 dc in ch 2 space, *1 dc in each of next
4 sts, 2 dc in next st, *Repeat around, join
FINISH OFF
CHANGE TO WHITE
Row 7: ch 2, 1 dc in each of next 4 sts, 2 dc in next st,
*1 dc in each of next 5 sts, 2 dc in next st, join
Row 8: ch 2, 2 dc in ch 2 space, *1 dc in each of next
6 sts, 2 dc in next st, *Repeat around, join
Row 9: ch 2, 1 dc in each of next 6 sts, 2 dc in next st,
*1 dc in each of next 7 sts, 2 dc in next st, join
FINISH OFF
Change to bottom color
Row's 10-17: 1 dc in each st around. join.. FINISH OFF after row 17
Row 18: fold gnome in 1/2, working through both front & back sts,
join with sl st, ch 3, *1 sc in next st, sl st in next st,
ch 3, *Repeat across, finish off
